I’m a bad leader and I’m lack of friends, What should I do?

I’m a high school student in China. I found myself seriously lack of skills in leadership and interpersonal communication. As a leader of the association “Model United Nations”, the number of active members keeps decreasing. As a leader of the Dept. of Assoc. , I can’t keep my fellows as a team or a department. I can’t get them active in their jobs. I sincerely think that this is all because of me, because of my lack of skills. And as a normal student, I can’t really get many friends, I’m always an outsider of the “mainstream” and looks like a lone wolf even if I didn’t want to. I too believe that it is due to my lack of skills of interpersonal communication. This kind of things always worry and embarrass me a lot. What should I do to improve my skills and change the situation?

you need to be more active and more outspoken. while i do not know about these associations, just try to plan new ways to get people more involved. talk in front of your classes to people and explain what you do and the reason you are doing it. nervous about speaking in front of people? practice in front of the mirror. it sounds corny, but it will make you feel more confident with yourself. as for making new friends, hopefully stepping up to the plate to get people involved will help. just try to be more bubbly and willing to talk to people. good luck!
