On my iPhone, the application remote is not working. Help?

The Iphone, Ipod touch application remote is an application that allows you to connect to your itunes library and then you can control your itunes library from your computer. the only problem is that my iphone is not connecting to it. I load the application and it says that i need to open up itunes. so i do that. then i need to go to the devices list. where is the devices list? and if it helps, i am using a PC. someone help please? thanks

OMG I HAD THE EXACT PROBLEM AND I ASKED ABOUT 7 QUESTION HERE AND RANG UP APPLE AND EVERYTHING!!!!!!
so what you need to do is update itunes!
if that dont work re-install itunes.
